No sound comes out when blowing into the Ocarina.

To play the Ocarina, use the Play Button and Touch Buttons rather than breathing into it.

There is no sound, or the notes sound different than expected.

Check that the batteries are installed correctly and the Power Switch is set to ON.

Each time you turn on the Ocarina, the touch sensors take about 3 seconds to calibrate.

During this time, leave the Play Button and all Touch Buttons untouched. If you pressed or touched any of these buttons during calibration, turn the Ocarina off and on again.

Wait about 3 seconds without pressing or touching any buttons, then try playing again.

Ocarina instructions

Check the Volume Control Dial. If it is set to minimum, turn up the volume and try playing again.

The notes do not match the finger positions shown in the chart.

The note depends on which Touch Buttons your fingers are touching. You may be touching an extra button or not making full contact with a button needed for the note.

Make sure the Touch Buttons being touched match the fingering chart for the desired note.

Pressing the Play Button with a Touch Button combination not shown in the fingering chart will produce an error tone. (For Free Play Mode)

Use the fingering chart to check the finger positions for your note. Adjust your fingers to match, then press the Play Button again.

The low or high D♯/E♭ notes do not sound, even with the correct finger positions.

The power is on, but the Ocarina does not respond.

The Ocarina automatically enters Sleep Mode after 30 minutes without use while the power is on.

Press the Play Button to wake the Ocarina from Sleep Mode. Allow about 3 seconds for the touch sensors to recalibrate before playing again. During this time, avoid pressing or touching any buttons.

A sound plays as soon as the Ocarina is turned on.

A tone at startup is the low-battery alert. It indicates that the batteries need replacing.

If the battery level drops further, the alert sounds again and the Ocarina stops operating until the batteries are replaced.

To continue playing, replace all three batteries with new AA alkaline batteries using the steps below.

① Remove the battery cover.

On the back of the Ocarina, loosen the battery cover screw and remove the cover.

  • Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to avoid damaging the screw head.
  • The screw stays attached to the battery cover to help prevent loss. Leave it attached when removing the cover.
