PlayStation®5 / PlayStation®4 Controller Not Responding

If your compatible HORI controller is not responding after turning on your PlayStation®5 or PlayStation®4 console, this may be because the console was turned on using a DualSense™ wireless controller or DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller.

When the console is turned on using a DualSense™ wireless controller or DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller, another connected compatible controller may not be available for use immediately.

Please try the steps below to use your HORI controller.

PlayStation®5

1. Cancel the initial account selection

Turn on your PlayStation®5 using a DualSense™ wireless controller or DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller.

When the account selection screen appears, press the Cancel button on the controller used to turn on the console.

2. Use your HORI controller

After pressing the Cancel button, you should be able to operate the console using your connected HORI controller.

PlayStation®4

1. Cancel the initial account selection

Turn on your PlayStation®4 using a DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller.

When the account selection screen appears, press the × button (Cancel button) on the DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller.

2. Use your HORI controller

After pressing the × button (Cancel button), you should be able to operate the console using your connected HORI controller.
